Success Takes Time

Success Takes Time

A couple days ago a friend told me he wanted to become an Entrepreneur and work from home. He kept buying those how to make 10k in one-week rich schemes. I tried to explain to him that hard work,  consistency and building relationships are some of the keys to his dream job. After a couple of conversations he flat out stopped talking to me. He did not want to hear anything remotely related to hard work. All I have to say is his loss.

Sometimes people don’t want to put in the time and effort. They want everything handed to them on a silver platter. It doesn’t work that way. Here are 3  things that can help you achieve your goal.

  1. Be persistent; Keep plugin away and don’t stop. You have to keep moving forward towards your goal. Stopping in a middle of a project can set you back weeks or months of your hard work. This is why you keep attacking even when things sometimes don’t look that great. The days you feel like not working are the big progress days, take advantage of them.
  2. Stay focus; Distractions are one of the biggest causes of failure.  keep your eye on the prize. You will have people, family, acquaintances, co-workers trying to distract you from your goal. This is normal. Think about it.  every time someone tries to do something positive to better their lives someone or something tries to convince you otherwise. Stay on target. TV is one of the biggest distractions out there, be careful you might be watching your own rerun.
  3. One step at a time: Small victories of success are sometimes perceived as failures. If you can finish 2-3 items on your to-do list every day, that’s progress. Remember “Oprah wasn’t built in a day” If you’ve made a change on your website or wrote one page of your new  book, to me that’s a small victory ” The impossible can always be broken down into possibilities” Baby steps.
